Take a virtual tour of Lazy Lady Farm on the Vermont Cheese Trail

Lazy Lady Farm is a small organic goat dairy. We have 25 registered alpines on the premise.

These are the true Lazy Ladies here, they have all of us humans running around catering to their every need.

Cheese is made about every day in small batches. The cheese is ripened in a cave for that extra natural flavor.

We offer classes here in the winter months, so if interested please write to find out when classes will be taking place. The classes are for the curious and for the future cheese makers.

Cheese Varieties

Goat:
Les Pyramids, Valencay, Capriola, La Roche, La Petite Tomme, pasteurized fench style chevres

Cow:
Holy Cow!, Meadowsweet, Tarte de Force
The Holy Cow! has a layer of chopped pecans, walnuts and dates sprinkled with a pinch of cinamon and nutmeg . For an added bonus, a cultured cream is added to the milk. Meadowsweet comes from the same batch of milk without the nuts and it is brined in wine that has been steeped with lemon rind for that added zing. The Tarte de Force is a 3 pound wheel that is two layers of cow cheese as described above but has a miccle layer of goat cheese that has a layer of capers and coarse cracked pepper........a real taste sensation...indeed

Cow:
Buck Hill Sunshine and Buck Hill Sunrise
Raw milk.....Buck Hill sunshine is 3 pound wheel of ripened cow cheese, dense, smooth and yet somewhat sharp. The Buck Hill Sunrise is the same cheese in a one pound wheel which has been brined and then washed a bit more sharp, a bit more wild
